I have been thinking about a project that I have attempted a few times before, but never managed to carry out. I was a bit ambitious previously. However, I have tempered my expectations a bit. So what is this project? Something I have thought that applies to many things in life. But seldom gets done. The idea is to take one photo from a certain place. A local park that I walk in on an almost on a daily basis. To see the transition throughout the course of a year. I wrestle with the idea that starting on the first day of the year would be going good starting point. However, I kind of feel like I want to start it now. Not put it off. Never start it or procrastinate so much it never gets done.
After all the view has been around for 330 million years. So It’s not likely to be going anywhere soon. I wish I had been more into photography when I was younger. As there are many things that I would have liked to have documented. Hind site is a wonderful thing!
It has been in my mind for a short while that a long time ago a family friend, who my father became friends with at Manchester Polytechnic. Had a seemingly mad scheme to take a double decker bus around the country and document what he saw in the people of those areas. Of course now it wouldn’t be anywhere near the project it was then. As everyone has a smartphone with a high definition camera in it. But it would be an interesting comparison.
I think of this, as I was reminded the other day about the TV show that follow 7 Up throughout their lives and at 70 this was (probably) going to be the last one. But again the march of time being recorded. It is fascinating as it can be witnessed in a way that until the 20th Century was impossible. Mine will be just a dot in time but interesting to me, if nobody else.
